Hunter McLean is an autistic artist based born in Northern British Columbia, Canada. Her work addresses different ontological understandings of humanity and nature. Scientific, religious, and spiritual narratives collide in the fractured realms represented in her oil paintings.

The source of the work stems from the critical deconstruction of scientific nature documentaries, the writings of Donna Haraway, and an upbringing spent engaged in wild and domestic animal rescue.

McLean received her Bachelor’s in Art Education at Concordia University and is currently based in Montreal, Quebec.
